Istanbul’s mosques and bazaars, a Bosphorus cruise and the cave hotels of Cappadocia make Türkiye a favourite trip from Pakistan. The first question is always the visa. The Turkey e-Visa for Pakistani passport holders is real, but it is conditional. You qualify only if you already hold certain Western visas or residence permits.

Below: who qualifies, how to apply officially, and the embassy route if you do not. Voyfaro does not issue or guarantee visas, so always confirm the rules on the official pages listed at the end.

Turkey e-Visa for Pakistani passport holders: the short answer

When we checked the Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) page in October 2026, it said:

  • Ordinary Pakistani passports need a visa to enter Türkiye.
  • Holders of a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit can get a one-month, single-entry e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr.
  • Everyone else applies for a sticker visa through the Turkish mission in Pakistan (or where they live).
  • The e-Visa is only for tourism or business. Visas for work, study and other purposes are given by Turkish embassies and consulates.
Conditional e-Visa Sticker visa (embassy route)
Who Holders of a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit Everyone else
Where evisa.gov.tr only In Pakistan: Anatolia Travel Services offices
Stay Up to 30 days, single entry As granted on the visa
Insurance An insurance fee was part of the e-Visa price when we checked Compulsory, from an approved insurer only

Who qualifies for the conditional e-Visa

We ran the official eligibility check on evisa.gov.tr for an ordinary Pakistani passport in October 2026. Before you can apply, you must confirm that:

  1. Your passport covers the whole period of your stay in Türkiye.
  2. You are travelling for tourism or business.
  3. You hold a valid supporting document: a visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland.
  4. You can prove a return ticket, a hotel reservation and at least US$50 for each day of your stay.

The site warns that if you do not meet these criteria, your e-Visa is invalid even after it has been issued. A visa also does not guarantee entry, so border officers can still refuse you. The MFA advises a passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

What “valid” means for your UK, US or Schengen visa

The e-Visa FAQ says the supporting visa or permit only has to be valid by date on the day you enter Türkiye. Used or unused single-entry visas are accepted, as long as their validity covers your entry date.

Two catches:

  • Other countries’ e-visas are not accepted as supporting documents.
  • UK residents with digital status: the UK has replaced most physical immigration documents with eVisas (digital status). We could not find official Turkish guidance on how the e-Visa system treats a UK eVisa. Ask the e-Visa support desk or a Turkish mission before you book.

As general guidance, carry the passport or card that shows your supporting visa or permit, plus your ticket, hotel booking and proof of funds. Officers may ask to see them.

Pakistanis living in the UAE or Saudi Arabia

A UAE or Saudi residence permit is not on the MFA list. So if you live in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh or Jeddah and your only document is a Gulf residence visa, you generally need a sticker visa. Apply through the Turkish embassy or consulate in the country where you live, and follow its current process.

If you also hold a valid US, UK, Schengen or Ireland visa, you can use the e-Visa route like anyone else. Your country of residence does not matter for that rule.

Dual nationals: the e-Visa site says to choose the nationality of the passport you will travel on. The UK government says British citizens can visit Türkiye visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

How to apply on the official e-Visa site

Use evisa.gov.tr only. Type the address yourself. Unofficial “Turkey visa” websites may add their own service fees.

  1. Run the eligibility check. Select Pakistan and an ordinary passport, then confirm you meet the conditions above.
  2. Create a profile. The site’s steps are: create a profile, upload files, make the payment, download the e-Visa.
  3. Enter your details exactly as in your passport. If anything does not match, the e-Visa is invalid and the fee is not refunded.
  4. Add your supporting document. Enter the visa or permit type, number and expiry date, and upload a copy.
  5. Pay by card. The FAQ names Mastercard, Visa or UnionPay credit or debit cards, with 3D Secure and international transactions switched on. The card need not be in your name. Some Pakistani bank cards need international payments enabled first, so check with your bank.
  6. Download your e-Visa. Keep a printed copy and one on your phone, as the FAQ advises.

Good to know from the official FAQ (checked October 2026):

  • Apply at least 48 hours before departure.
  • Each traveller needs their own e-Visa. One family application can include up to 10 people.
  • You are only charged if the e-Visa is approved. Unused e-Visas are not refunded.
  • If the system says it cannot process your application, apply at a Turkish embassy or consulate instead.

If you do not qualify: the sticker visa from Pakistan

Without a supporting visa, the Turkey visa for Pakistani travellers is a sticker visa. The Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad announced in February 2026 that applications are received exclusively through Anatolia Travel Services offices.

In October 2026, Anatolia’s website listed offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Hyderabad. Its checklist says to apply in your current city of work or business, or as per your CNIC address.

Turkey visa requirements from Pakistan: typical documents

A summary of the visa centre’s 2026 tourism checklist (general guidance; always use the latest checklist):

  • Passport valid for at least 180 days from the travel date (365 days for multiple entry), with at least two blank visa pages
  • Copies of the data page and used pages of your current and old passports (last 5 years)
  • Application form, filled in and printed at the visa centre, with two 50 x 60 mm photos on a white background
  • Cover letter explaining your trip, and an interview form for applicants aged 18 and over
  • NADRA Family Registration Certificate (or Marriage Registration Certificate for newly married couples)
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months, stamped and not older than 30 days, plus a bank maintenance certificate
  • Proof of income: job letter and salary slips, business documents or tax returns, depending on your situation
  • Hotel reservation or invitation letter, and a return air ticket reservation

The checklist advises applying 15 days to 3 months before travel. It also advises against paying for tickets or hotels before you get the visa. If you were refused in the last 6 months, you cannot reapply until 6 months have passed.

Travel insurance for the Turkey visa application

If you are looking for travel insurance for Turkey from Pakistan, read this first. The 2026 checklist says health insurance with US$60,000 cover, including repatriation, is compulsory. Only insurers approved by the Embassy and Consulates are accepted, and they are available at the Anatolia centres. Do not buy a separate policy just for the visa application.

For the e-Visa, insurance is not one of the eligibility conditions. However, when we checked, the e-Visa price for an ordinary Pakistani passport included an insurance fee. Read what that cover includes before relying on it, because medical bills abroad can be high. You can compare travel insurance for the trip.

Common mistakes

  • Applying on an unofficial “Turkey visa” website
  • A supporting visa that expires before your entry date
  • Relying on a Gulf residence permit for the e-Visa
  • Names or passport numbers that do not match the passport
  • Paying for non-refundable flights or hotels before a sticker visa is approved
  • Overstaying, which the e-Visa FAQ says can lead to fines, deportation or a ban

Planning the trip

Pakistan to Turkey ticket price and flights

Turkish Airlines has flown nonstop to Istanbul from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, and one-stop routes through Gulf hubs are common. Schedules change, so check current routes. Also check whether you land at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW).

The Pakistan to Turkey ticket price moves with season, Eid and school holidays, baggage and direct versus one-stop. Compare the total cost, not just the fare. Compare flights from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

Where to stay

  • Sultanahmet: walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar
  • Taksim and Beyoğlu: busy, central and well connected
  • Kadıköy: the Asian side, with a local feel and great food
  • Cappadocia: cave hotels in and around Göreme

For visa applications, pick a free-cancellation booking. Find hotels in Istanbul and Cappadocia.

eSIM for Turkey

A travel eSIM gives you data for maps and ride apps from the moment you land. Your phone must be unlocked and support eSIM. Compare eSIM plans for Türkiye, or read eSIM vs roaming vs a local SIM.

Tours and airport transfers

Bosphorus cruises and Cappadocia balloon flights can be booked ahead. Balloon flights depend on the weather, so check cancellation terms. A pre-booked airport transfer saves haggling at IST or SAW.

FAQ

Can I get a Turkey e-Visa with a UK visa on a Pakistani passport?

Yes, if your UK visa or residence permit is valid on the day you enter Türkiye and you meet the other e-Visa conditions. Used or unused visas both count.

What is the official website for the Turkey e-Visa?

www.evisa.gov.tr, the site the MFA directs applicants to. Other “Turkey visa” sites are not the government portal.

Can Pakistanis living in the UAE apply for the Turkey e-Visa?

Only if they also hold a valid US, UK, Schengen or Ireland visa or residence permit. A UAE residence permit alone does not qualify, so apply for a sticker visa through the Turkish mission in the UAE.

How long can I stay on the Turkey e-Visa?

Up to 30 days on a single entry; the MFA calls it a one-month e-Visa. Check the dates on your e-Visa and leave before your stay ends.

What is the Turkey e-Visa fee for Pakistani citizens?

The official site shows the full price before you pay. When we checked, the total for Pakistani passports was the visa fee plus a processing fee that included insurance. Fees change, so check evisa.gov.tr.
