This policy explains what personal data Voyfaro collects, why, and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English.
1. Who we are
Voyfaro (“we”, “us”) runs the website voyfaro.com and related chat and social media channels. We help travellers find travel options and book them with trusted travel partners.
Voyfaro is based in Pakistan. For questions about this policy or your data, email hello@voyfaro.com.
For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, Voyfaro is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. The short version
- You do not need an account to use our website.
- We collect what you choose to send us, such as your name, contact details and trip plans.
- We use it to reply to you and help with your trip. We do not sell it.
- When you click a partner link, the partner may set cookies to track the referral. Your booking is then handled by the partner under its own privacy policy.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
3. What we collect
Information you give us
When you email us or message us on Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp, we receive:
- your name and contact details (for example email address, phone number or social media handle);
- the content of your messages, such as destinations, dates, number of travellers, budget and preferences;
- any other details you choose to share.
Please do not send us passport copies, card details, passwords or one-time codes. We do not need them, and we will never ask for them.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, our hosting and security provider may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
Analytics
We do not currently use analytics cookies on our website. If we add an analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy first, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
Information from partners
Our travel partners may send us reports about bookings made through our links, so they can pay us commission. These reports usually show things like the booking date, product type and booking value. They are generally not meant to identify you, and we use them only to track and reconcile commissions.
4. How we use your information, and our legal basis
| What we do | Why | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to your messages and help plan your trip | To provide the service you asked for | Taking steps at your request / legitimate interests |
| Send you options and partner links you asked for | To provide the service | Legitimate interests |
| Keep the website running and secure | To protect our site and users | Legitimate interests |
| Track commissions from partners | To run our business | Legitimate interests |
| Keep records needed by law | To meet legal duties | Legal obligation |
| Send you newsletters or offers (only if you opt in) | Marketing | Consent (you can withdraw at any time) |
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Partner links and cookies
Some links on our website and in our messages are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave Voyfaro and go to the partner’s website.
- The partner, or an affiliate network working for them, may set cookies or use similar technology to record that you came from Voyfaro. This is how they know to pay us a commission.
- These cookies are set by the partner, not by us. Their use is covered by the partner’s own cookie and privacy policies.
- When you book, you give your personal and payment details directly to the partner. The partner is responsible for that data under its own privacy policy.
If a page on our website shows a search box provided by a travel partner, that partner may set its own cookies when the box loads, before you click anything. We will name any such provider in this policy before we add one.
Our own website does not set advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
6. Who we share data with
We only share personal data where needed:
- Service providers who help us run Voyfaro, such as our email provider and website hosting provider. They act on our instructions.
- Messaging platforms you choose to contact us on, such as Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp (operated by Meta). Their own privacy policies also apply.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We do not pass your contact details to travel partners. You only share data with a partner when you choose to book with them.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Messaging us on WhatsApp
If you message Voyfaro on WhatsApp:
- We only message you after you contact us or opt in. We reply about your trip and the options you asked for.
- Offers only with your consent. We send travel offers or updates on WhatsApp only if you have said yes to them.
- You can stop at any time. Reply STOP, or tell us in the chat, and we will stop sending you messages. You can also block our number in WhatsApp.
- Meta’s role. WhatsApp is provided by Meta. When you use it to talk to a business, WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to the messages.
- How long we keep chats. We keep WhatsApp chats for the same period as other messages (see section 9).
8. International transfers
We are based in Pakistan, and some of our service providers are in other countries. This means your data may be processed outside the UK, the European Economic Area or your home country. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we take reasonable steps to make sure your data is protected, for example by using providers that offer recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep data
- Messages and emails: up to 24 months after our last conversation, then deleted, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint or legal matter.
- Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, usually no more than a few weeks, for security.
- Commission records: kept for as long as needed for our accounts and tax records.
- Marketing list (if you opt in): until you unsubscribe.
10. How we protect your data
We use reputable providers, secure connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your data, or object to how we use it;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email hello@voyfaro.com. We may need to confirm your identity. We aim to reply within one month.
If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). If you are in the EU or EEA, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. We would appreciate the chance to help first, so please contact us.
12. Children
Our service is meant for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the age set by your local law) without a parent or guardian. If you think a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will make that clear on this page.
14. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Pakistan. This does not remove any rights you have under the data protection laws of the country where you live.
